E.W. and Carolyn have been friends all of their lives. During their youth, E.W. gave Carolyn an engagement ring. He was shipped off during the War and they both ended up marrying other people.
E.W.'s mother, deceased, wore the original engagement ring for a long time and then it was passed to several family members.
After the deaths of their former spouses, the friendship of E.W. and Carolyn blossomed into love. E.W. located the original engagement ring held by his brother, Sam Chastain. During dinner one evening, Sam slipped the ring to E.W., who then slipped it on the finger of his bride.
And they are living happily ever after.

Friends, family and retired colleagues showered Sybil with gifts at a party at Simpatico on the Marietta Square. Hosted by Sherri Sallinger and Judy Lindsay, they presented the bride-to-be with a bottle of vintage champagne and matching flutes, as well as other surprises.
On Aug. 31, Gwen Paul and Cathi Reece gathered members of Sybil's Bunco, Birthday, Bridge and Mah Jong clubs from the Village at Barrett Greene for another celebration at Ray's on the River.
Boyd, a former band director at Marietta High School, and Sybil both retired from the Cobb County School System.
