Dominion buys 2 solar power projects in Indiana

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Energy provider Dominion Resources Inc. has acquired three solar-power development projects in Indiana from Sunrise Energy Ventures.

The Richmond, Va.-based company said Monday that the projects near Indianapolis are expected to be in service by the end of the year. They will generate 28.6 megawatts of electricity combined.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed. The projects have 15-year power purchase agreements with the Indianapolis Power and Light Company.

Engineering and construction firm AMEC will build the three facilities. The company also is building a 7.7 megawatt solar installation for Dominion near Augusta, Ga.

Dominion is one of the nation's largest producers and transporters of energy and serves retail customers in 15 states.
