Calling all foodies! On Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. the first-ever Dishcrawl takes place on the Marietta Square.

For $45, ticket-holders visit four restaurants in one night, sampling each restaurant’s specialties and meeting the owners or chefs. All restaurants are within walking distance of each other.

“The concept for Dishcrawl started as bringing people together over food and taking people on food adventures. Now we’re dedicated to trying to re-imagine the way people think about food, drink and their community via our events. It’s a really interesting way to get people out exploring their community,” said Tracy Lee, founder and CEO of Dishcrawl.

The restaurants are kept a secret until 48 hours before the event. Guests receive an email telling them where to show up.

“You don’t know where you are going to go for the whole night,” Lee said.

The Journal learned that Simpatico will be the second restaurant on the upcoming Dishcrawl.

“Marietta has some great food, and it’s only going to get better. We are hoping to give the community an idea about what we are doing at Simpatico. It’s a way for Marietta to get a taste of the new things coming to Simpatico,” said Katie Pfister, who purchased Simpatico on Jan. 23 with her husband, Micah, and Sterling Wharton.

“(Dishcrawl) gives everyone an opportunity to come together, which is what food is all about. You want good food because that’s where people sit down together and talk and eat. It’s a bonding experience when you share food together. It will be great for the community to bring different age groups together in that atmosphere,” she said.

“You get to try four different restaurants in one night and then go back to the ones that you loved,” said Lee, who started the first Dishcrawl in Silicon Valley, Calif., three years ago. Dishcrawl is in more than 100 cities.

“(Dishcrawl) actually brings the community together. That small idea of just wanting to eat became this awesome community event,” Lee said.
