Mrs. Betty Johnston Daniel, age 85 passed away Friday, March 14th. She was a resident of Mt. Vernon Towers in Sandy Springs, GA She is survived by three daughters, Terressa D. Duggan and husband, Doug of St. Augustine, FL; Kathy Daniel, a missionary in West Africa and Linda D. Stevenson and husband Davis. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Tracee Gmitro and husband, George, and a grandson, Johnathon Humphries. There are four great- grandchildren surviving her: Michael (Moni), Katee, Anna, and David Gmitro. There are eight nephews and nieces surviving her. Mrs. Daniel was born and raised in Decatur, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Daniel, parents, Charlie and Mannie Johnston, her brother and his wife, James Hugh and Evelyn Johnston of Decatur; her sister and her husband, Charlotte and Roy Folsom of Marietta, GA. Mrs. Daniel was very active in local real estate for 30 years. Most recently she retired as a receptionist for Mt. Vernon Towers in Sandy Springs after seventeen years of faithful service. She was an active member of Briarlake Baptist Church and the Women of Faith Sunday School Class who will be the Honorary Escort. Pallbearers will be Mr. George Gmitro, Mr. David Gmitro, Mr. Larry Folsom, Mr. Maxey Smith, Mr. Jimmy Johnston and Mr. Johnathon Humphries. Friends may call on the family at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs on Saturday, March 15th between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will also be held at Sandy Springs Chapel on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Tommy Ferrell and Mr. Thomas H. Miller.
