Cobb Police issue warrant for Austell man caught with illegal DVDs

On April 23, a warrant was put out for the arrest of Melvin Ward.

According to Cobb Police, the Austell man was caught with 269 illegally recorded DVDs for over 50 box office movies. All of the movies on the DVDs are copyright protected and were not made with the consent of the owners. This incident occurred two days after Ward’s release from the Cobb County jail for battery.

Ward will be facing a felony charge for illegally recorded material.

The accused lives on Six Flags Drive. There is no official arrest report on file at this time.
