Sonny was congratulated by 22 Hall of Fame Members, state board members and delegates attending the ceremony. The nomination was made by Gale Tanner, Northwest Georgia USBC Association manager of Smyrna and endorsed by Walt Koscica, state director of Marietta and Joe Spain, association manager of Roswell.
Sonny’s wife Mable Lusk, sister Judy Campbell of Kennesaw, daughter Suzanne Hatfield of Cartersville, son and daughter-in-law Brooks and Lisa Lusk of Atlanta and granddaughter Bailey Lusk of Atlanta were all in attendance for the Sonny’s induction.
On Sept. 7, the Honorary Commanders of Cobb County class of 2013 is hosting Barbecue for the Red, White and Blue, a barbecue and music event to raise funds and awareness for the SHARE initiative at Shepherd Center that provides a continuum of rehabilitation care for soldiers who have sustained traumatic brain injuries. The event begins at 7 p.m. at Galleria Gardens. The gardens are between the Galleria Office buildings and across the street from the Waverly Hotel.
