You won’t want to miss this! Birney Elementary School at 775 Smyrna-Powder Springs Road in Marietta is hosting its first Fall festival Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wristbands are $15 per child (includes all-day access to games and rides) and tickets are $1 each.
The number of tickets needed per game/ride will vary. Food and activities for children can be purchased at the festival.
Highlights include food booth, games, cakewalk, “Royal Flush” Dunk Tank, face painting, relays and more! Proceeds help fund Birney’s student activities and supplies.

All tennis players and dog enthusiasts! You won’t want to miss the Lost Mountain Community Tennis Association’s annual Halloween Fright Festival Charity Tennis Tournament on Oct. 26 to 28 at Lost Mountain Tennis Center in Powder Springs.
The weekend benefits Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue and Adoption. Tennis players of all levels and junior age groups can participate with a limit of two players per event. Entry fee is $30 for singles event and $40 for doubles teams and includes a tournament T-shirt, gift bag, and entry to the Player’s Party at Brookstone Country Club.
Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks will be served at the party along with a cash bar. There will be a raffle drawing with numerous prizes donated by community sponsors. You must be present to win. A silent auction will be held with all the proceeds going to Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue and Adoption.
