Monday, a Smyrna woman was accused by Cobb County police of using a credit card from an area high school’s football booster club to charge more than $1,500 in purchases.
Stephanie Lewis Ford of 2029 Harwinor Road was “entrusted as a parent volunteer” and treasurer for the Campbell High School Spartan Football Boosters club, according to the arrest warrant.
The warrant stated Ford used a credit card given to her to make “purchases for her own personal gain and not for its intended purpose to support the football booster club,” between July of 2012 and November of 2012.
Those credit card charges included tickets on Delta Air Lines for herself and two children, an Avis rental car, a storage unit fee, and fast-food restaurants purchases that totaled $6,292.
The warrant also listed a payment to the Boston University Dean of Students, where Ford’s daughter attends school.
Although the warrant has been issued for Ford on a felony theft by taking charge, she had not been booked into the Cobb jail as of Friday afternoon.
