Carol Ann Armstrong, 69, of Marietta died on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Chapel in Marietta. Mrs. Armstrong was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and has lived in Cobb County since 1978. Carol was very loving and caring to all her family and friends. Carol was very involved in the lives of her four grandsons. She loved her four Toy Fox Terriers. She maintained a beautiful home. Carol was an artist and sculptor; she was an avid crocheter and knitter. Carol designed and enjoyed her second home at Lake Burton; and in her earlier years she was an award winning horsewoman in hunter and jumper class. Survivors include her husband, William J. “Bill” Armstrong of Marietta; two daughters, Cindy Mitchell of Woodstock; Christine Ruther of Marietta; one; one brother & sister-in-law, Kenneth & Joanne Helton of Tavares, FL; four grandchildren, Benjamin Ruther, Austin Ivester, Hayden Ivester, Harlan Ivester; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
