Alice Powell Anthony, age 91 of Smyrna, passed away Tuesday, February 19. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday, February 22 in the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna. Interment will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. A long-time resident of Cobb County, Mrs. Anthony had been a long time member of Fair Oaks United Methodist Church. She volunteered with M.U.S.T. ministries for over 10 years, winning the volunteer of the year award during her service. She is survived by her sons and daughters, Tyrone Powell of Smyrna, Drucilla Ai (Rudy) of Kona, HI, Terry Powell (Rebecca) of Monterrey, CA, Jerry Tipton of Smyrna, Billy Powell (Andrea) of Acworth, Tommy Powell of Marietta, brother Edward Atkins of Moore, S.C., sister Joann Johnson of Greenwood, S.C., 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm Friday at the funeral home.
