Another five years of ESPLOST (Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) is expected to be a boon for Cobb County. Part of its passing provides a 1 percent sales tax increase to fund education. Here's a peek at what it will deliver for Cobb school districts.

  • $717.8 million

    For renovations, modifications, additions, new schools, land, equipment, safety and security and technology systems at a total maximum cost of for Cobb County schools - list includes rebuilding of Walton High School, two replacement elementary schools ($23.3 million each); a career academy ($29.8 million); rebuilding of Osborne High School ($29.9 million); and an East Cobb area middle school replacement ($29.1 million)
  • $15.2 million

    To pay off principal and interest on outstanding bonds of the City of Marietta schools
  • $20 million

    For renovations, modifications, additions, new schools, land, equipment, security and technology systems for City of Marietta schools
  • $16 million

    Technology upgrades for City of Marietta schools
