2 men shot while walking on bike path in Atlanta

ATLANTA (AP) — Police are searching for suspects after a shooting on an Atlanta bicycle path that that wounded two people, one of them critically.

Atlanta police say the gunfire happened Thursday night in the Kirkwood neighborhood of northeast Atlanta.

WSB-TV reports that the two victims were walking along the bike trail when two men confronted them and tried to pick a fight. The station reports that 21-year-old Xavier Arnold was shot in the head and another man was shot in the leg.

Police said Arnold was in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police searched for the suspects by air and ground but were not able to locate them.

Investigators believe robbery was the motive.
