What is a digital subscription and why should I get one?
A digital subscription gives you unlimited access to content across all digital platforms including, E-edition, tablet app, iPhone app, Android app and mobile.


How do I sign up for a digital subscription?

I am currently a print subscriber, do I have to pay to access the, the E-edition, apps or mobile?
No. Access to the website, E-edition, phone and tablet apps and mobile version are included with an active print subscription to the Marietta Daily Journal. To register, go to and choose the registration option for print subscribers.


Where can I download your Apps?
The iPhone and iPad apps are available in the Apple Store The app is the same for both the iPad and iPhone

What do the apps include?
The apps include a digital version of our print edition that will display stories, ads and photos exactly as they appear in our print edition. The apps also include an updated feed of our latest news content. The apps use Multi-touch screen features to provide fast and easy navigation and natural paper-like reading experience. I created an E-edition username and password, do I need to create a new account for each platform?
No. One account gives you access to all of our digital offerings.


What other subscription options are available?
In addition to our print full access subscription, readers may choose an online only subscription. The online only option gives readers unlimited access to, the E-edition, all apps and mobile.


How do I access my digital subscription?
Once you purchase your digital subscription, you will be logged in to your account from the device you used to purchase the subscription. You don’t have to do anything else to access the content on the website.

However, if you switch to another device or clear your saved login data, you may see the message asking you to subscribe. If that happens, simply click the “Sign In” button on the top left corner of that screen and enter your e-mail address and the password you selected.


What if I don’t want to purchase a digital subscription? Will I be blocked from the site?
No. You will still have access to a limited number of articles each month. Upon reaching your limit, you will be asked to subscribe for full access. Some of our content, like the homepage, photos, video, and classifieds will always remain free. However, access to our e-editon and our app package is only available to MDJ print or digital subscribers.


Why has the Marietta Daily Journal started charging for online access?
Newspapers across the country are witnessing a growing number of readers preferring to consume news online. They, and we, can no longer reasonably expect to support our online franchise through advertising revenue alone. As a result, we’ve opted for a “metered” approach, which gives readers a limited number of articles each month before asking readers to pay a monthly fee for full access.


What is Press+?
Press+ is our e-commerce system for digital subscriptions. When you subscribe to, you will create a Press+ account, and Press+ will charge your credit card for the subscription amount. The charge will appear on your credit card statement as “Press Plus” in the amount you have selected for your subscription.


If I have a computer at home and a computer at my office, do I need to purchase two digital subscriptions?
No. You can log in using your account username and password from wherever you access the Internet.


Is access to the e-Edition included in my digital subscription?
Yes. If you enter the account information for your digital subscription when prompted, you will gain access to our e-edition. Access to our apps and mobile site are also included.


Is the popup “subscribe” window a secure URL?
Yes. If you right-click on the window and “view frame info” or “frame source,” you'll see it's an https URL.


How will digital subscriptions be billed?
Press+ accepts major credit cards. Subscriptions are billed every 30 days for monthly subscriptions or every 360 days for annual subscriptions. Your subscription renews automatically, and you are charged in advance of each billing cycle unless you cancel. Note: Because Press+ is managing the billing for your digital subscription, the charge on your credit card statement will say “Press Plus” rather than the MDJ.

What is the cancellation policy?
You will be able to cancel your subscription at any time. When you cancel, Press+ will stop charging your account the following billing cycle. Your unlimited access will continue for the remainder of the current 30-day period. Afterward, you will still be able to view a limited number of articles per month on at no charge, just like any other visitor.


Account Management FAQ

How do I sign in to my account once I’ve subscribed?
You are automatically signed in as soon as you subscribe; there isn’t anything further you need to do. If you are prompted with a message to subscribe at a later time, you can log in with the account you created. If you subscribed at one computer and would like to sign in at a different computer (e.g. home and work computers), go to and click “Digital Sign In” at the top.


How do I access my digital subscription account?
To access your account, follow these steps:

What do I do if I forgot my password?
To reset your password, follow these steps:

3. Enter your email address and click “Submit.” This will send you an email with a link to reset your password.
4. After clicking the link, you will be prompted to enter and reconfirm your new password.
5. Click “Submit” and your password will be updated


How do I modify my payment information?
To modify your payment information, follow these steps:
1. Click “My Account” at
2. On the “Account Summary” page, select “Modify Payment Information”
3. Confirm that the cardholder name and billing zip code of your credit/debit card are correct
4. Enter your card number and expiration date
5. Click “Submit” and your payment information will be updated
