MARIETTA - The New York City-based Anti-Defamation League released a report Tuesday that blasts an east Cobb anti-illegal immigration activist for allegedly using hate speech to trumpet his cause.

D.A. King, who heads the Marietta-based Dustin Inman Society, a coalition of citizens dedicated to secure American borders, dismissed the criticism.

"It's just more of the same for anybody who speaks out against illegal immigration," King said.

Titled "Immigrants Targeted: Extremist Rhetoric Moves into the Mainstream," the report claims to document rhetoric used by groups that position themselves as legitimate, mainstream advocates against illegal immigration.

"King has become accepted by many media outlets as a legitimate spokesman, but when the cameras aren't rolling, he uses hate-speech to characterize undocumented workers as a threat to the safety and well-being of American citizens," ADL Southeast Regional Director Bill Nigut said.

Nigut said there is a legitimate debate to be had about immigrants who enter the U.S. illegally. The ADL's problem is with those who use hate speech against such people, for it not only targets them, it smears an entire ethnic group.

"The Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis were not the only ones who saw an opportunity in the national debate over immigration to sow the seeds of racism as a means to derail immigration reform, ADL National Director Abraham Foxman said.

"While reasonable people can disagree about border control and appropriate parameters for immigration reform, the debate has been tainted by the virulent anti-immigrant message employed by a handful of groups. The real victims in this are Hispanic-Americans and other immigrants who are being unfairly targeted, demeaned and stereotyped."

One example the report cites of King's alleged hate speech, is when he supposedly told attendees at a Newton County Republican Party meeting in April 2007, that undocumented immigrants are "not here to mow your lawn - they're here to blow up your buildings and kill your children, and you, and me."

But King denies the saying the remark, which the report cites third-hand.

King cited a quote by the late Barbara Jordan of Texas, who served as the first black woman from a Southern state in the U.S. House.

King quoted Ms. Jordan as saying, "Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave - deportation is crucial."

Said King: "One can only wonder what the well-funded, far-left people who are in a minority would said about the late Barbara Jordan's recommendation on illegal immigration."

Jerry Gonzalez, executive director of The Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials, weighed in on King's acceptance by mainstream critics.

"What also is disturbing is that you have Georgia Legislators defending Mr. King's rhetoric. In addition, you hear many state and local elected officials also using the same language described in this report," Gonzalez said, noting how King has served as a proxy speaker for state Sen. Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) when Rogers is unavailable for speeches.

King denied the claim, saying that he has "never been a 'proxy speaker' for Rogers," though he "would be proud to do so."

Rogers fired back at Gonzalez Tuesday evening, saying he "considers (him) to do nothing but spew hate speech."

Asked about the attacks on King, Rogers said, "I've never seen anything he's done that's proven to be false."

Other groups highlighted in the ADL report include Mothers Against Illegal Aliens of Phoenix; the Federation for American Immigration Reform of Washington, D.C.; Choose Black America; You Don't Speak for Me; Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee of Raleigh, N.C.; and Grass Fire of Maxwell, Iowa.

A REAL Immigrant to America says -
It looks like D.A. has shaken-up the far lefties again. I for one am grateful for his courage and hope that he will run for office. The list of dead Americans killed by illegal aliens on his Website is testiment enough that what the ADL and this Jerry Gonzalez person fear the most is the truth. GO D.A.! Thank you!
Jerry Gonzalez says -
Watch the King and Rogers side show at Georgia Tech in March 2007, YouTube.com/GALEO2007 King did make those statements and a State Senator defended those statements.
Jeff Terwilliger says -
Since 1981, under Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II, we have had the best government Big Business can buy. If the Federal government had done it's job and enforced the law we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Enter Your Name says -
Mr. King is a good man. Too bad our leaders don't listen to the majority of the American people when tell them again and again that we want our borders secured and our laws enforced. I am grateful to all of the groups that are working so hard on the behalf of the American people. WAKE UP AMERICA!
Enter Your Name says -
BTW, D.A. is against ILLEGAL immigration not immigration.
John Earl says -
The illegal alien supporter have lost the battle. Now, their only gambit is to throw out hate speach and lies as they slip back into the shadsows, where they will hide until their next attempt to re-make this nation into a cesspool of lawlessness.

I am embarrassed frankly that one of my own ethnicity would attack a patriotic American like D.A. King, a principled law and order man who is doing all he can to preserve what is left of our country. I wonder what the good Mr. Nigut and Mr. Foxman would say if illegal alien foreign nationals (mostly Mexicans) were to break into their homes, rape and murder their wives and children and ransack their homes. Because that is precisely what is happening along our Southern Border, in our homes across this once great land. What these Communists at the ADL (an organization that used to be patriotic and full of outstanding citizens) don't want to admit is the one thing that D.A. and others in the anti-Invasion movement know to be true--that at least 30 million, probably 40 million illegal aliens, mostly Mexican nationals have broken into our country and very little is being done about it at the Federal level. However, more and more states and local communities are fighting the Invasion by themselves and the tide is turning. Anti-America groups like the ADL, SPLC and ACLU are aiding and abetting illegal activity by defending the indefensible. A nation without borders--the destruction of America--is what they all want, and they must be stopped! My suggestion to the good people at ADL is to get a life and while you're at it, get out of my country! You're a cancer on the American scene.

The Defamation League has always been an Anti-American, Communistic mouthpiece, running lackey dogs of the Latino racist groups like La Raza, Mecha, LULAC et al. The league attempts to smear good, honorable men like D. A. King because that's all they have left in their pro amnesty/open borders arsenal. God bless D.A. KIng, God bless America and deport all illegal aliens.
Ron says -
Typical open borders tactic when there open borders, pro-illegal alien (once again not immigrant) ideology and lunacy is exposed and defeated. Envoke references of the KKK and nazis and play the race card. These organizations have no relevance and are the real keepers of hate. They hate the sovereignty, culture, and free democratic government of the citizens of this once sovereign nation. These groups are irrelevant race baiters. Go Mr. King fight for your country.
June says -
No, Mr. Nigut, there IS no room for a debate. Illegal means unlawful. Every illegal alien in this country needs to leave or be deported. They have no rights here. All we need from Mexico is THEIR immigration policy -one of the harshest around. These activists and our government have rolled the red carpet out so often, illegals think they truly have a right to invade. If it wwere any other country in the world, the powers-that-be in DC would have the army, navy and marines out, and that's a good thing!
jo says -
The people of America are getting fed up the racist and the anti-American bigots like Bill Nigut and Jerry Gonzalas. Nigut and Gonzalas, and their ilk, are nothing but wacked out, out of touch fools that nobody will take serious.
Stewie says -
D.A King is a true patriot. I am sick of all these demands from people here illegally. Go do all of this in your country of origin, and maybe it will make "your" country better. Leave us and America alone you whining bunch of ingrates.
Nigut says -
Nigut smears D.A King and then says he smears others. What a hypocrite. ADL..Another Dumb List of people that has learned how to make money off of race, or poverty, or illegal immigration. Wake up America to this insanity !!! Anybody who has a view different from these ADL types is not entitled to that view by these elites. Chip Rogers is great !! Gonzalez & Nigut are the instigators.
Jack Curtis says -
So, basically we have one "third hand" accusation of naughty speech? I viewed an Internet video of D.A. King giving a speech in D.C. recently and heard nothing that could remotely be connected to "hate speech". In fact, he appears very knowledgeable about the costs of illegal immigration and very calm, especially considering he served in the Marine Corps.
lance sjogren says -
The ADL unfortunately has joined the side of the hatemongers in recent years. Shame on it for making a mockery of the noble cause it once stood for.
Lydia says -
D.A. King is a true patriot! These accusations against him are not true.
james says -
this ADL report is a bunch of hogwash. i read it last night and sent them a note to say that there is nothing wrong with immigration. ITS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION that these groups support. and of course i had to ask what part of ILLEGAL does this group NOT understand?? sounds like the ADL did not actually research the groups that they name but are going with whatever the SPLC, LaRaza, LULAC, Mecha, MALDEF say is the truth
DM Brock says -
Way to go D.A.! Looks like all your hard work and personal sacrifice is actually getting the other side,(the amnesty at any price side) upset. Now that is progress! Keep on educating Legal Americans the true costs and facts about illegal immigrants. We support you 100%.
Stuart says -
I expect that the ADL's allegations are outright lies, designed to discredit King. I have read King's writings for years and I have never seen anything even approaching hate speech. The citation that the information is "third hand" is pretty much an admission that they made the whole thing up. The anti-American open-borders lobby have lost the amnesty debate and the laws are finally being enforced; they have nothing left to try but personal attacks on anyone who disagrees with them. King should sue them for libel. The ADL has no credibility and newspapers should stop taking them seriously. The headline should read "ADL Attacks are Unsubstantiated"
Free Speech says -
The ADL is THE number one organization trying to quash free speech in the United States. Enough said.
mk says -
D.A. tells the truth--period! Our country will fall, because there aren't enough real men like him in office. He is brave, honest & sincere!
LadyM says -
"Nigut said there is a legitimate debate to be had about immigrants who enter the U.S. illegally." What Nigut fails to understand is that Immigrants do not enter this county illegally, only Illegal Aliens do that. The debate is not about Immigration, it is about Illegal Immigration. What part of Illegal is so hard for these groups to understand. I have read all of Mr Kings articles and followed him for several years and he has never put out any hate speech that I have seen. These Pro Illegal Groups have to resort to name calling when they have nothing else to use to support their arguments. Keep up the good work Mr King! The message is getting out there and that's what scares the other side!!!!!!!!!!
Karen says -
I am a Black woman who is resident of Cobb County and have met D. A. King on numerous occasions. He is definitely "not" a racist. He works for the good of all Americans. It sickens me when Gonzalez and others liken their cause to the Civil Rights movement. It is nothing of the sort. At the Cobb County Commissioner's meeting earlier this year, I gave the attorney who was pushing for illegal immigrant rights and opposing some of the legislation an earful about her using the plight of Americans during the Civil Rights movement to push her cause. I encourage every Black American to band together with our fellow Americans of other nationalities, because "We are One" and oppose illegal immigration. Jobs are being lost in construction, landscaping, mortage companies, etc. We need jobs for Americans. Let them go home and fight for their rights in their own countries. They should fight for better conditions in their own country. Come to America legally, get the required immunizations and background checks, and we will welcome you with open arms!
Karen says -
Jerry Gonzalez, please, we don't believe you! I am one Black person who is not falling for the "Let's band together" stuff you guys spout about supporting illegal immigration. Many other Blacks are wise to this also. I don't trust your agenda nor will support it. D. A. King gets my support! Chip Rogers gets my support!
DB-Marietta says -
we need more D.A. Kings... we might have a good shot at being Americans once again!!!
votevotevote says -
I'm glad that the anti-immigration movement is gaining momentum. The ADL's attempts do defend the illegal invasion of our country are ridiculous. I've heard the excuses form employers on how immigrants do jobs that citizens don't want to do and I don't buy it. If a business can only exist on the backs of low wages paid to illegals, that business needs to either revise its' business model or close up shop. Our country can work around the reversal of the inflow of illegals, but a lot of businesses and industries and businesses will have to adapt or die. Let's pay more to buy less if it will stem this inflow of undereducated illegal immigrants.
Pat H says -
We are truly grateful to have DA King and Chip Rogers. We are sick of Jerry Gonzalez and Bill Nigut and their hate speech for profit, their personal profit. We are even more sick of the illegal invasion.
One old Vet says -
Well, it looks like the people have spoken. What I can't understand is why D.A. King doesn't run for office most of us would vote for him in a flash. There are few who have th ecourage to stand up to these rich dishonest race-baiting scammers. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE D.A. King!
American Worker says -
D.A. for president!
