Gov. Perdue signs entertainment tax credit bill

ATLANTA - Gov. Sonny Perdue has signed legislation designed to make Georgia the Hollywood of the South.
The 2008 Entertainment Industry Investment Act creates incentives to shoot in the Peach State. It offers a 20-percent tax credit for productions that take place in Georgia. Giving the state a plug with an animated production logo earns the company an additional tax credit of 10 percent.
Perdue signed the bill into law on Monday at the studios of Turner Broadcasting System Inc. in Atlanta.
The promotion applies to films, TV series, commercials, music videos and video game productions.
Together those industries contributed $413 million to the Georgia economy in 2007.

That's nice. Maybe they use the old Ford Motor Company building that used to build American made cars in Hapeville, GA as a venue. Perdue didn't have time to go to bat to keep Ford here in Atlanta.
