Lionell Cole, 90, of Kennesaw died Wednesday, April 2, 2008.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta, with the Rev. Mike Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Acworth.

Mr. Cole served in the Army Air Corps. He retired from Lockheed as a welder after 27 years of service. He was also a blacksmith for several years. He was a volunteer with Carpenters for Christ and a member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Cole; four sons, Jesse M. Cole of Acworth, Don Cole of Kennesaw, Bob Cole of Heflin, Ala., and Tim Cole of Dahlonega; two daughters, Becky Johnston of Stone Mountain and Shelia Wehunt of Marietta; two brothers, Ed Cole of California and Joe Cole of Albertville, Ala.; two sisters, Evelyn Whittington of Oxford, Ala., and Betty Treadway of Albertville, Ala.; and 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

Contributions maybe made to the Southern Baptist Co-Op Program.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
