From the time I first moved to Smyrna in 1977 as a young man, through marriage, children and business, we always called on Al when I needed help and he was always there with a funny comment and a complete logical solution to any problem. Many times we would meet at 6:30 am at Ken's huddle house and talk over breakfast. He was our mentor, true counseler and dear friend. His passing is the end of an era for Smyrna. The true extent of the countless people whose lives he touched and Blessed can never be fully expressed. "Goodbye old friend", David and Teresa Johnson

I will never forget working for the firm when it was Cochran, Camp, Chaulker, Snipes and Jose in 1966. I was receptionist and had to say the entire name of the firm when I answered the telephone. Boy I had to learn it fast. I also had my first dance with my husband, Fred, 40 years ago in Al and Leila's kitchen at the 1967 Christmas party for the firm. Al and Leila have always been very special people in my life and I will pray for Leila's continued strength. She has been a real angel during Al's illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Juanita and Fred Wingo

Dear Leila, I didn't learn of Al's passing until today.... Since I now live in Conyers and remarried, I usually hear important news when someone gets around to telling me! I will always remember your extreme kindness to me at Marietta Hospital when my late husband Nick Goggins passed away at age 46. This was in 1980. You were indeed an "angel of mercy" The amonia you gave to me prevented my fainting..... My heart goes out to you and your family at this time. Al was indeed a very special person, and helped me with many legal problems. May God bless you and your family always. Love, Sue

Leila, Scott, and Karen, My deepest sympathy and condolence to You and your family. I just found out today (11-15). Growing up with Scott, I always treasure the memories of Al. He always had a happy outlook on Life. I'll never forget the times I spent with Him. A Man Of God, Family, and a Hard Worker; always took time to include me and teach me things about Life. He was like a father to me. I keep a jar of peppers in vinegar in my fridge, and think of Al Cochran everytime I open it. I'm sorry for losing touch with You all. I will call and hopefully be able to visit with you soon. Love Always, Paul
