Mr. Ronald L. Henderson, 66, of Marietta died Thursday, July 22, 2010. Mr. Henderson was a U.S. Navy veteran, where he served as an electricians mate. He received his BA in Journalism and MA in Governmental Administration from Georgia State University. Ron worked for the U.S. Department of Energy for 33 years before retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Marietta Seventh Day Adventist Church for 38 years, member of the Chapter 6 D.A.V., Save the Fox Speaker's Bureau, and the Big Brother Program. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Henderson. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Henderson; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Henderson and Greg Christopher of Woodstock; granddaughter, Alyssa Henderson, and soon to be born grandson, "the little fireman". Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at H.M. Patterson and Son, Canton Hill Chapel with Pastor Geoff Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
